Damn it Jim... I'm a doctor not a... wait a second

So, Hairy has been getting worse and worse with the bump on his head. Today he just didn't seem happy at all so I tool him to the Emergency Vet Clinic. They drew out some of the fluid in the bump and determined that the bump is an absest and it needs to have a drain installed. The Doc said that it could be from any number of things (bee sting, insect bite, hit his head on something sharp, etc). They injected some antibiotic and gave me some orals for him later. He is, however, now 26 pounds by their scale. Wow.

So tomorrow he goes in for surgery. Let's just hope he doesn't have to wear one of those lampshades.

You can see how his skull is about 3 times as tall from the ears up and how his right eye is slightly closed. Poor guy.

Apparently this is a great place to sleep.

AHHHH HAIRY!!!
You are starting to look just like your Uncle Wayne. You better get some rest and eat some more food. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Poor Hairy....our dog Maggie May (white lab), had the exact same thing happen. Her abcess was on her shoulder though. Poor little guy. He's just too cute though. Hmm...Maggie seemed to adore that same spot when she could fit into it! Now it's under our wing chair with her 80lb self!

Cuuuuute!!

Leo loves sleeping in weird places, preferably ones where he doesn't really fit...
And shoes - they are perfect pillows. If there are no shoes on the floor, he will pick a few from the shelf and put them on the floor, and then rests his head on them. :-)
